We finally spent some real time in Cuenca on Saturday afternoon when we returned from Cajas. I couldn't hear much of what the guide was saying during the tour of the history district, but I did catch a bit about the architecture. He said there are some very typical french buildings, some very typical colonial buildings, and a mix of the two. I thought it all looked beautiful!

French.
I don't have a good picture of the Colonial.

Mix.

This was originally the Universidad Estatal de Cuenca, but it's now the supreme court.

This church was never completely finished, because the steeples/domes on each side were too heavy for the foundation to support.
