My Beautiful Gals

Teresita, Maria, Mariela, and Lindsey. We had a fabulous day at Mensajeros, playing in the park, working a great big foam puzzle, and braiding yarn to make bracelets and necklaces. When Lindsey and I arrived, Maria was locked in her room as punishment for mistaking her bed and pants for the toilet. Several times. So, we spent the morning without her, but we could still hear her mimicking what we were saying in the main room. She got to play after lunch, and was in a super mood because of it. Pancho came out to eat as well, but that was all we saw of him today. He seems to be doing better than a couple of weeks ago, but Carmen and Teresa seem to think it's better if he stays in his room.

I finally remembered to bring my camera today! Here is a sampling of the wonderful things I get to do with these lovely young ladies each week:

The park! The tan and brick building in the center of the background is the apartment complex.

Teresita, waiting to slide down the cement bike ramp.

Mariela

Lindsey and Teresita playing with Mariela's wheelchair. We took her over the bike ramps in it and she hooted and hollered like she was on a rollercoaster.

Maria. Smiley and distracted as always.

One more of Teresita, wearing her newest yarn necklace.

Seems as if you are finally figuring out how to interact with these children in a productive way - took time, but can sense your visits are more satifying.
